Magnesium 101

Magnesium is necessary for over 300 chemical reactions in your body. It helps with sleep, anxiety, muscle cramps, headaches, constipation, high blood pressure, heart issues, metabolism and cognition/focus.

Most Americans are severely deficient and it's one of the top supplements I recommend - but with so many different types of magnesium on the market, it can be hard to know which form is best. There are forms like l-threonate or citrate that can be very beneficial, and forms like oxide or glutamate that are not.

If you don't want to have to worry about if the magnesium you're getting is beneficial, shoot for a whole foods source.   Triquetra is one of my fave brands for supplements because they're organic and don't have gross fillers like most others.  Their magnesium is made from plant based whole foods which allows for the best overall absorption and effectiveness compared  to synthetic magnesium supplements since it's how it's found naturally in nature.
