- Type I Diabetes... or Parasites Attacking Your Pancreas?
You’ve probably heard every explanation for why your pancreas stopped making insulin. Genetics. Bad luck. Autoimmunity . But here’s a theory that almost never gets mentioned: Eurytrema pancreaticum , a pancreatic fluke (yes, a literal flatworm), can damage the pancreas and create diabetes-like symptoms in animals. This parasite has been shown to: Infect the pancreas and bile ducts Target the insulin-producing cells (the islets of Langerhans) Cause degeneration of pancreatic tissue Impair insulin secretion and create diabetes-like changes in animal studies In cattle and ruminants, this is well documented.In humans, mainstream medicine largely shrugs it off but case reports and research suggest it may contribute to or worsen pancreatic dysfunction . Why Detox is a Lifestyle, Not a Quick Fix I was recently talking to someone who said they were treating their cancer conventionally because they “heard holistic doesn’t work.” My first thought was: what if someone told you not to go to the gym because it didn’t work for them? You’d probably have a lot of questions: What kind of workouts did you do? How long did you stick with it? A few days, weeks, months? Did you have a trainer or accountability system? Did you fuel your body with the right nutrition, stay hydrated, and get enough rest? Holistic health works the same way. You can’t just throw a few supplements at a chronic disease and expect it to disappear. True healing is about lifestyle. Detox isn’t a 7-day cleanse or a trendy supplement. It’s a comprehensive approach to life. It’s about what you put in your body (organic, whole foods rich in plants) and what you put on your body (clothing, soaps, deodorants, makeup and other personal care products). It’s also about what you keep out - environmental toxins, heavy metals, pathogens and chronic stressors that weigh down your system. It’s about supporting your nervous system, moving your body regularly, getting sunlight , prioritizing sleep , managing chronic stress and addressing past trauma. Getting quality sleep is something the vast majority of my clients struggle with… and honestly, it’s one of the most important things you can prioritize in your entire wellness routine. Sleep is when your body heals, repairs, detoxifies and regenerates . If that’s not happening properly (or at the right time), it will absolutely stall your healing. And yet… no one really teaches us how to sleep. Sleep hygiene is not something emphasized in American culture, which is why so many people are exhausted, wired and stuck in cycles of insomnia. The truth is…There isn’t just one cause of insomnia. There are layers . Let’s break them down 👇 First: Fix Your Sleep Environment (This Matters More Than Supplements) Before you even think about supplements (and definitely before pharmaceuticals) you need to make sure your environment is actually supporting sleep. 1. Your Bedding Matters More Than You Think Different fabrics carry different frequencies. Linen & wool → ~5000 Hz Bamboo → ~3000 Hz Hemp → 2000–5000 Hz Cotton → ~100 Hz Silk → 100–500 Hz Polyester, nylon, spandex → 0 Hz For perspective… 0 Hz is the frequency of death. So if your body is in repair mode all night, it makes sense to surround it with high-frequency, natural materials .... not synthetic ones. This applies to: Sheets & Blankets Pillows Pajamas Underwear Grounding sheets can also be supportive here. 2. Stop Sleeping Next to Your Phone (This Is Huge) I cannot stress this enough. Morning Light = Non-Negotiable Morning sunlight is one of the most powerful (and free) tools you have. It helps: ✔ Regulate sleep ✔ Balance hormones ✔ Support metabolism ✔ Strengthen immunity There’s even research showing just 10 minutes of morning sunlight can impact weight loss. Simple takeaway: ☀️ Get outside in the morning 🌅 Watch the sunrise if you can 🌙 Reduce light at night Watching both sunrise and sunset is one of the fastest ways to reset your internal clock. Evening Light Hygiene (Most People Get This Wrong) At night, your body needs darkness to produce melatonin. But modern lighting completely disrupts this. Here’s what to do: Swap LED bulbs for incandescents - LED's emit blue light and flicker imperceptibly, which can subtly stress your nervous system and disrupt melatonin production Use red light filters and switch screens to night mode Avoid screens at least 1 hour before bed Consider blue light blocking glasses Why this matters: Blue light tells your brain it’s daytime → which suppresses melatonin → which delays sleep.
