6 Superfoods that Boost Metabolism, Balance Hormones, Reduce Inflammation & Support Anti-Aging

My mantra "food is medicine" is legit! There are tons of superfoods out there but these are my top 6 to maintain optimal weight, boost metabolism, balance hormones, reduce inflammation and promote anti-aging. I find ways to get these in on the daily!

Lentils - Most Americans are deficient in magnesium which lentils are full of! They're also a great source of protein for us veggie's. I like them spicy with cooked veggies but you can use them as a meat substitute for so many things!

Avocado - Some studies have found people who eat avocados daily have less belly fat than those who don't. Add it to your smoothie or salad, make a guac or have it plain. I sprinkle mine with cayenne, sometimes as avocado toast. SO GOOD FOR YOU!

Cinnamon - Cinnamon is rich in antioxidants, helps balance blood sugar and has anti-aging properties. Add to your coffee, smoothie or favorite dessert!

Cayenne - I seriously could not live without this spice. I have it every day. Spicy peppers have a thermogenic effect on your body and you actually BURN MORE CALORIES just by eating it. Like 100 more per meal. I add it to veggies, salads, wraps, soups, dips... almost anything.

Ginger - Ginger is a natural appetite suppressant and can also help with nausea/belly aches. I drink ginger powder mixed with water every day & have ginger chews on hand for the kiddies for belly aches. Next time you get a sweet tooth, try a recipe with ginger - so yum!

Flaxseeds - My menopausal peeps - some studies have shown flaxseeds to reduce hot flashes by 60%. It's anti-inflammatory properties also promote brain health and help reduce arthritis. Add it to your smoothie or salad. Buy bread/crackers with flax seeds baked in. "Flaxseed eggs" are also a great egg substitute.
