Could Your Bug Bites Be Making You Sick?

🦟 Did you know mosquitoes have killed more humans than any other creature on earth?

When most people think of mosquito-borne illness, they think of malaria, West Nile, or Zika.

But these little pests can carry much more than that:

✨ Microscopic parasites

✨ Worm eggs

✨ Viruses

✨ Bacteria like Lyme disease and its coinfections (Babesia, Bartonella)

And it’s not just mosquitoes. Other biting and stinging insects like ticks, horseflies, fleas, flies, lice, mites, and bed bugs can transmit parasites and pathogens too. Some are even able to lay eggs inside you where larvae hatch and wreak havoc.

This isn’t limited to faraway, tropical places - it happens right here in the U.S.

Here’s how to protect yourself:

🌿 Use natural bug repellents (citronella, lavender, eucalyptus are great choices)

🌿 Plant citronella and lavender around your yard (bonus: they’re anti-inflammatory)

🌿 Treat bites topically with a natural salve containing antiparasitic essential oils

🌿 And if you’ve gotten a lot of bug bites recently? Consider parasite cleansing as a next-level protection. Because let’s be real - nobody wants to wear a full-on bug net just to go outside. 😉
