Y’all… I cannot make this stuff up.
Check out this vid of a woman who bought “fresh” salmon from Costco, gets it home, lets it thaw a bit… and there are LIVE WORMS wriggling around in it 🤢🤮 She had to throw the whole thing out.
And before anyone says “this is rare,” let me remind you: this is NOT my first time posting about worms in Costco salmon. I’ve got years of receipts on my site if you're feeling brave!😅
Quick PSA before you take another bite…
🪱Studies show up to 90% of wild-caught fish have roundworms now.
🪱BC Centre for Disease Control says 75% of wild Pacific salmon are infected with nematodes.
🪱Alaskan researchers literally found parasites in 100% of the fresh salmon they tested.
🪱Even farm-raised isn’t safe - they just swap worms for a toxic cocktail of antibiotics, pesticides and dyes.
Think you’re good because you cook it or avoid sushi? Nope.
Home freezers don’t get cold enough to kill most of these parasites, a bunch of them survive cooking temps and sushi chefs can’t see (or remove) the microscopic eggs anyway.
And remember... the bigger the fish, the higher the mercury load. So we’re getting parasites AND heavy metals. 😳
I’m not trying to ruin salmon for everyone (okay, maybe a little), but only because I don’t want y’all eating worms and toxins!

Drop a 🪱 if this just ruined fish for you forever.
