This is an important PSA if you buy your supplements online:
Many supplements sold on Amazon are either counterfeit, expired, or stored improperly — and Amazon’s system makes it hard to tell what’s real.
Amazon uses what’s called a “commingled inventory” system — that means your supplement may come from any seller, not necessarily the manufacturer, even if it looks legit. This opens the door to fake or tampered products that can harm your health.
Major brands like NOW Foods, Garden of Life, Pure Encapsulations, Bausch & Laumb and Douglas Labs have confirmed this is a real issue and some are pursuing legal action.
For your safety, I recommend buying directly from trusted sources like:
The manufacturer’s website - like Triquetra, one of my faves (Use code SHELLEY94916 to save!)
Authorized practitioner platforms - like my FullScript dispensary
In some cases, stores like Whole Foods or trusted health shops
I know Amazon is convenient, but your health isn’t worth the risk of a contaminated or fake product.
If you’ve ever bought supplements from Amazon, take a look at these articles to see why it’s time to rethink that habit:
