The Deadly "Kiss" Hiding In Your Backyard

Chagas disease, caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi, is no longer just an imported issue. Over 300,000 cases now exist in the U.S., with California alone accounting for nearly a third, and scientists are urging authorities to officially recognize it as a homegrown threat in the southern states.

Florida researchers found that many kissing bugs are moving indoors: more than one-third were collected inside homes, and one in three carried the parasite. They feed mainly on humans and pets, especially in neighborhoods near undeveloped land.

This parasite is spread by “kissing bugs,” which transmit it indirectly.  They often bite exposed skin on the face. Infection occurs if the insects defecate near the bite wound and the feces are inadvertently rubbed into the broken skin, eyes or mouth.🤢   Not the kiss you’re hoping for, right?! 😬

The scary part? Most people don’t know they’re infected until serious complications show up, like heart problems, strokes or digestive issues... often decades later, earning its nickname "the silent killer."

Even domestic dogs can act as warning signs - if they test positive, the parasite is active in the local environment, posing a risk to humans nearby.

Why this matters for you:

Parasites like this can thrive silently and contribute to hormone disruption, fatigue, digestive problems and long-term health risks. Many of these infections are underreported & misdiagnosed.

💡 Signs you may have been exposed:

Unexplained fatigue or digestive issues Irregular heart rhythms, palpitations or even heart failure

History of insect bites in endemic areas

Pets testing positive for parasites

🛡️ Take action: Even if you live far from California, Florida, Texas or southern U.S. states, parasite cleansing is a critical step for supporting your health. Detox and drainage protocols help your body eliminate hidden infections before they create long-term damage.
