You Found WHAT in Your Peach?! šŸ‘šŸŖ±

Have you ever bitten into fruit only to find a worm inside?Ā šŸ˜³šŸ‘šŸŖ±

A friend recently sent me a photo after finding a worm in one of the peaches she'd been eating. She was convinced it was the reason she'd developed explosive diarrhea and severe stomach issues that eventually landed her in the ER with a diagnosis of enteritis.

While it's understandable to make that connection, I shared that I wasn't convinced the peach was the direct cause. Many parasites that cause gastrointestinal illness don't produce symptoms immediately, the current circulating strain is aroundĀ 1–2 weeks after exposure, not the same day.

The reality is, we're exposed to parasites and other microbes far more often than most people realize. We just don't usuallyĀ seeĀ them. In fact, if you're eating organic produce, you're sometimesĀ moreĀ likely to encounter insects or worms because the produce isn't being treated with many of the synthetic pesticides used in conventional farming.

That's not a reason to avoid organic produce by any means - just a reminder to wash it well and recognize that exposure is a normal part of life.

The bigger takeaway? We can't eliminate every exposure, but weĀ canĀ support our body's ability to handle them.

šŸ‘‰Ā Keep your toxic burden as low as possible.

šŸ‘‰Ā Detox regularly.

Our goal isn't to live in a bubble, it's to build a body that's equipped to deal with the world around us. Now I'm curious... have you ever found a worm in your food? šŸŖ±šŸ˜… Tell me what it was!
