If You Love Them, Read the Label ❤️

Red Dye 40 isn’t banned yet... so if you really love your Valentine, skip it. ❤️

Valentine’s Day candy is LOADED with artificial dyes, especially Red 40. It’s petroleum-derived and completely unnecessary when safer natural alternatives like beet or fruit-based coloring exist.

Some companies say they’ll phase it out “eventually”… but it’s still on shelves right now.

• Linked to hyperactivity and neurobehavioral changes in children

• Shown to disrupt immune function

• Can be contaminated with carcinogenic compounds

• Artificial dye use has increased dramatically over the last 50 years

Some of these same brands remove Red 40 in Europe to avoid warning labels but continue using it in the U.S.🙄

And don’t miss the slide on TBHQ, a cheap preservative added to extend shelf life that’s been shown to negatively impact T-cells and may promote food allergies. If it’s in your Valentine’s treats, it’s not there for your health… it’s there for their bottom line. 💸

We can’t control everything, but we can control what goes in our cart.

There are dye-free options out there. Read labels. Choose better. Love your people well. 🤍

If you’re skipping Red 40 this year, these are the swaps I recommend 💘✨
