On Kelly Brogan, MD's podcast, naturopath Daniel Roytas shared a perspective:on parasites that's unfamiliar to most: parasites may not always be the “bad guys.”
He shares:
🔹 Parasites can act as bioindicators of toxicity, meaning they show up when the body is overburdened with heavy metals and other environmental toxins.
🔹 Parasites (and their biofilms) store toxins like heavy metals, shielding our tissues from further damage.
🔹 In animal studies, those with parasites + toxic exposure had less metal buildup in their organs compared to those with toxins but no parasites.
🔹 In nature, certain worms even break down plastics and harmful substances into compounds that sustain life.
👉 The takeaway: parasites thrive in a toxic terrain. While some can cause problems by stealing nutrients or physically blocking organ function, their presence is often a sign the bigger issue is toxicity.
That’s why a parasite cleanse should be followed by heavy metal detox to ensure your body isn’t a hospitable environment for parasites to return. Detoxing metals also strengthens immunity, supports the nervous system, and improves nearly every function in the body.
