There's a proper order for detox and it's not recommended to jump straight into cleansing parasites, heavy metals or Lyme without opening your drainage pathways first. The release of these toxins can overtax your detox systems (colon, liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, skin). When our elimination pathways are clogged or overburdened, toxins don’t exit the way they’re supposed to and can instead get released into the bloodstream and make you sick. These symptoms are known as “die-off” or “herxing.” Your colon is the primary way we eliminate toxins so if you're backed up at all, you won't be able to effectively eliminate toxins. Ideally you want to be having healthy stools 2-3 times a day. Your liver and bile ducts work together to filter toxins from your blood and process them for elimination. Just like drains in your house can get clogged, so can they. Stagnant bile acids and toxin accumulation can damage the liver, cause toxins to back up into the kidneys, create skin issues and breed sickness. Your lymphatic system includes a network of vessels that drain fluids and filter toxins and pathogens from your body tissues.
