Wait… Parasites Can Go Where?! 👀

Most people think parasites are just a gut issue… but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Some parasites are able to penetrate organs and tissues through their eggs and larvae, allowing them to travel all over the body.
Why? Survival.
The goal is to eventually exit through stool or urine so their life cycle can continue.
But when those eggs and larvae don’t make it out, they can get lodged in tissues and organs, leading to things like granulomas, cysts, fibrosis, and lesions… yes, even in the brain.
A few wild (and eye-opening) examples:
Ascaris, strongyloides and hookworms actually migrate through the lungs before ever reaching the gut
Pinworms and whipworms burrow into the intestinal lining
Threadworms can embed in tissue and mucosa and are commonly found in the sinuses
Tapeworms can penetrate and encyst within tissues
Guinea worms infect the feet and legs, causing painful blisters
Filarial worms live in blood vessels and connective tissue
Flukes tend to hang out in bile ducts, tubular organs and tissues
Schistosoma live in the blood, but their eggs actively penetrate tissues
So when symptoms seem random… scattered… unrelated…It’s often because the stress isn’t staying in one place.
Now be honest... are you suddenly rethinking every sensation in your body? 👀😅
