🐶 When Life Bites, Stay Calm

Halfway through summer, and this kid has already checked off a tick bite, a wasp sting, a jellyfish sting, and a Rottweiler bite. šŸ˜…šŸ¤Ŗ

Each one was an opportunity to practice something I've worked hard to teach my kids: Stay calm. Then make a plan. Even with the Rottweiler bite (which looked like a crime scene from the amount of blood 😬), we didn't spiral.

Fear, panic and stress increase cortisol, which can work against healthy immune function. Instead of catastrophizing what might happen, we focused on what was happening right then and asked, "What's the next best step?"

I've always taught my kids: "What can I learn from this, and how will this make me stronger?"

When you're a quarterback on multiple football teams and suddenly have stitches in your throwing arm, you can focus on what's out of your control or on healing and coming back even stronger.

Along with staying calm, we supported his body naturally. For the tick bite, jellyfish sting, and other exposures, I used Prid topically and had him take binders to support the removal of venoms, bacteria, and other toxins. Because bites and stings can introduce unwanted pathogens, parasite cleansing was on the menu too. PSA: Mimosa pudica seed (CellCore's Para 1) is one of my favorite natural supports after venomous bites and stings!

The dog bite was obviously more serious. The ER prescribed antibiotics because dog bites can introduce bacteria deep into tissue, but I supported him with probiotics, colloidal silver (the BEST natural antibiotic), liver support, binders, and topical silver on the wound. Since he also received toxin-laden numbing injections and X-rays, he'll be staying on binders for a while.

A week later, I was amazed at how well the wound was healing.

The biggest takeaway? Not every bite, sting, or scrape is an emergency. Trust your instincts. If you think something needs medical attention, get evaluated. But running to the ER for every tick bite... I'm gonna have to give you the side eye. šŸ‘€šŸ˜‚

Knowledge replaces panic. Preparation replaces helplessness. Now go enjoy your summer instead of fearing every bug, animal, or outdoor adventure. ā™„ļø
