💊 Why I Changed My Mind About Ivermectin

I know - as a holistic health practitioner, Ivermectin probably isn’t the first thing you’d expect me to advocate for.
And honestly, even a few years ago, I wouldn’t have.
I knew it had helped many people during the COVID wave, but I still didn’t consider it something I would personally reach for… until a situation in my own family completely changed my perspective.
When my kids were little, they rarely got sick. If they caught something, they’d bounce back in a day or two with my usual toolkit - herbs, oils, nutrient support - and that was that. Even through the first year of COVID, we stayed healthy.
But the first full year back to school hit differently. Both my kids went down... hard.
Nothing worked. Not the zinc, vitamin C, D3, quercetin or Para 3.
Not the nebulized peroxide, essential oils, Castor oil packs or Epsom salt baths.
The ickies just laughed at it all.
Out of desperation, I was able to score a prescription for Ivermectin but it took a few days to find a pharmacy willing to fill it (no small task at the time 🙃).
Thankfully, a friend had some on hand and within an hour, my daughter’s fever normalized after days of struggling.
It was that fast.
I know some skeptics would call that a coincidence… but when you’re a mom watching your usually healthy kids struggle with something that nothing else touches - and then everything shifts almost instantly - well, if you know, you know.
Seeing it work firsthand made me a believer. And when the same thing happened with my son - coughing so hard he’d throw up, then turning a corner right after starting Ivermectin - that sealed it for me.
So no, I don’t think everyone needs to start there.
Holistic support and foundational care come first... always.
But if you feel like you need something stronger in your wellness arsenal, let’s just say I haven’t let a winter go by without having it on hand just in case.
And yes, I’ve seen the headlines about questionable formulations floating around.
That’s why I only use a trusted compounding pharmacy in Tennessee (where it’s available OTC).
👉 My go-to is Medicine Counter they provide clean, high-quality IVM and have an in-house prescribing doctor for those outside TN.
